A lovely church wedding in London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham; starting off nice and early with the bride getting ready only a few hundred meters from St.Thomas of Canterbury Church, at the bride’s parents. I was instantly made welcome by all the family; and no better example than being served up coffee and freshly made sausages and bacon sandwiches to keep me going (thank you)! After the bridal prep, it was just a quick walk to the church and meet up with my assistant (Neil – Thank you), await for the arrivals and meet the priest to check if there were any restrictions for photography during the ceremony…
Well I would have met him if he had been there… Bit of a first for me with the priest being late for the wedding! Everyone saw the funny side when he eventually arrived though!
Although these things can cause the times to slip for the rest of the day, I was as usual, very efficient at photographing the formal groups and couple portraits; so much so that I caught up all the time lost caused by the late priest; and everyone moved onto the reception (The Hammersmith Club) via an old Routemaster bus perfectly on time.
There was a little bit of rain about in the afternoon, however it was short lived and didn’t take long for the clouds to break, allowing us a few minutes to walk up to Hammersmith Bridge for a few extra bride and groom portraits and take advantage of the dramatic sky!
